Andi Indra: Looking for a kid-friendly travel destination? If you live in East Java or are in East Java, it's okay to visit Maharani Zoo and Goa.Maharani Zoo and Goa is a combined tour, where we can see various animals in the concept of a zoo, as well as see the natural beauty in the form of a cave, which is called the Maharani Cave. The location is on the path of the North Coast of Java, precisely on Jalan Raya Paciran, Lamongan.
Until today, I've been there four times. Twice when this tourist spot was still only the Maharani Cave, when it was with family for the first time, for the second time with friends. Two times after that, I went there again after this tourist spot became more diverse by adding a zoo concept.
The child-friendly Maharani Zoo and Goa covers an area of 3.5 hectares. This zoo has a collection of 746 animals from hundreds of species (source from here). When I last went there in mid-November, the location arrangement was very good. The location is shady because of the many large trees, safety for visitors when in spots where there are wild animals, and there is almost no scattered trash (it seems the visitors are aware of environmental cleanliness).
At this location, we as parents can teach our children the diversity of animals on earth. Even though not all the animals on earth were transported here, at least, children will understand that there are many kinds of animals. We can also teach them about the level of animal extinction, the location of the animal, as well as the type of food. Because in front of each animal's cage, a sign is given explaining about the animal.
Later, in the middle of our journey around the zoo, there will be a path to the Maharani cave, which is a cave with unspoiled stalactites and stalagmites. The Lamongan government itself, did not change the shape of the stalactites and stalagmites in the cave, but only provided lights and gave names to each stalactite and stalagmite. Unique isn't it?
